Pray for the nation
1 Timothy 2:1–6 (ESV)
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,
who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
O Almighty God, King of all kings, and Governor of all things, whose power no creature is able to resist, to whom it belongs justly to punish sinners, and to be merciful to them that truly repent: save and deliver us. We yield thee praise and thanksgiving for our deliverance from those great and apparent dangers wherewith we were compassed. You are a a strong tower of defense unto thy Servants, preserve us evermore from all perils, to glorify thee who art the only giver of all victory through the merits of thy only son Jesus Christ our Lord. We pray that you would continue such thy mercies towards us, that all the world may know that thou art our Savior and mighty deliverer, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
