Discipleship

Seven Springs Presbyterian Church exists for God’s Glory and His Gospel. We believe in the ordinary means of grace, as our ‘bread and butter.’ You can click here to find out more about our Worship. The church has been given her mission by Christ the head of the Church. That mission can be found in Matthew 28:18-20.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:18–20, ESV)

A disciple is one who follows a teacher and their teaching. A disciple of Christ is one who follows Christ and his teachings. The Christian life is one of humble submission to Christ as the Lord and Savior, through the help of the Spirit. Discipleship happens every Lord’s day when we gather together as the people of God and worship him according to the Scriptures. Through the preached word, the sacraments rightly administered and prayer. The people of God sit under the preached word and hear what their master, Jesus, has to say to his bride. Seven Springs also has various ministries during the week and month that help grows believers in their devotion to Christ, alongside the regular preached word of Christ on the Lord’s day.

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28, ESV)
