Meet Our Pastor

Thomas Rickard was born and raised in Australia in a family of eight. As a boy in elementary school he heard the gospel and came to understand that no amount of good he could do would ever make up for the wrong he had done. He was a sinner in need of a Savior. He trusted in Christ, and his life was changed forever.

After high school Thomas took up carpentry, completing an apprenticeship and further study in building and construction, while serving the church in a variety of roles. In 2014 he moved to the United States with his then-fiancée, now wife, Sarah. He earned his Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2018, and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America in 2020. He began his ministry at Seven Springs in March 2020.

Thomas and Sarah have four children: Stella, Calvin, Nora, and Eliza. He enjoys reading, running, and time with his family. He likes to call himself a true confessional Southern Presbyterian — coming, as he does, from the real South.

Ministry Beyond the Congregation

Alongside his pastoral work at Seven Springs, Thomas serves the wider church. He is the Stated Clerk of Westminster Presbytery and chairman of the presbytery’s Examinations Committee, and he takes part in the denomination’s work of reviewing presbytery records. He teaches college-level theology courses.

Preaching and Teaching

Pastor Rickard’s usual practice is to preach through the books of the Bible, verse by verse, in the morning and evening services, and to teach through the Westminster Standards and Scripture in the Wednesday evening Bible study.
